Sohar Flour Mills to open grain storage silos on 4 January

Built at a cost OMR21 million, the Sohar Flour Mills Company will celebrate the opening of grain storage silos at Sohar Industrial Port on Wednesday. It is one of the major investment projects of the Oman Flour Mills Company. The opening ceremony will be presided over by Qais bin Muhammad Al Youssef, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. The storage capacity of the project is 160,000 tonnes, and it is considered one of the strategic national projects. It will help increase the storage capacity of the crops to ensure that there are sufficient quantities to cover the consumption in the Sultanate of Oman for longer periods. The project stems from the responsibility assumed by Omani mills in enhancing food security and securing a strategic stock of grains.
